Local compression toward a measurable limit

Compress an image to a target file size

Enter the maximum size accepted by a form, CMS, or email service. The tool searches for the best possible quality first, then progressively reduces dimensions only when you allow it and it remains necessary.

Output format

Quality search, resizing, and archive creation run locally. The tool targets a maximum size, but exact bytes depend on each image’s content.

A limit, not a misleading promise

The result targets a size at or below your limit. The report clearly distinguishes a met target from the best technically available result.

Automatic quality search

A binary search compares several quality levels to preserve the best result that fits below the target.

One archive for batches

Up to twelve images are processed sequentially and grouped into a single ZIP archive.

How to compress an image to a specific size

  1. 01

    Add the images

Select JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, or HEIF photos up to 100 MB each.

  2. 02

    Set the limit

Choose a value between 10 KB and 20 MB, select WebP or JPEG, and decide whether dimensions may be reduced.

  3. 03

    Check the report

Review file size, dimensions, and selected quality before downloading one image or the batch ZIP.

What a target file size really means

  • Two photos with identical dimensions can produce very different sizes because of detail, noise, and color variation.
  • A very low target may require smaller dimensions. When resizing is disabled, the best result may remain above the limit.
  • JPEG compression removes transparency. WebP is a better choice when transparency must remain.
